ZENONIA 1 Warrior Build: Stats, Skills and Gear

Why Warrior is the first-run class

The Warrior swings the biggest sword with the longest reach, wears the heaviest armor and has the widest damage roll. Heavy armor means defense, and defense multiplies the value of every CON point, so the Warrior tolerates mistakes that kill an Assassin. The one thing it lacks is healing: potions are your only sustain.

Stat priority

PriorityStatWhy
1STR+3 attack per point and +14 carry weight. The 2013 GameFAQs “perfect Warrior” thread argues for all points into STR; the 2010 community build is roughly 3 STR to 1 of everything else.
2CON+30 HP. Add points when Letter Carrier or Ghost of Ladon start two-shotting you.
3SPI+20 SP. One point every other level keeps Double Strike and Berserk Spirit castable.
4AGIMostly wasted if you use Berserk Spirit, which makes every hit a critical anyway.

Reference spreads from the 2010 walkthrough:

  • Level 90, attack build: STR 362 / AGI 98 / CON 98 / SPI 98.
  • Level 20, defensive build: STR 50 / AGI 38 / CON 54 / SPI 31.

Every stat also gains 1 per level on its own, which is where the 98s come from.

Skill priority

Active

SkillTargetNotes
Double Strike10/10Your damage skill: a jump-in strike with a high bleed chance.
Berserk Spirit10/10Guaranteed criticals for the duration; open every boss burn window with it.
Mateo7/10 or higherThe screen-clearing spell; needed for Virulent and Ladon.
Blessed Armor5/10A temporary defense buff for boss fights.
Crash, Rising Spine, Shining Blade1/10Unlock only; they are prerequisites, not damage.
Panic Shout0/10A freeze; skip on a first run.

Passive

SkillTarget
Wrath of the Dragon10/10
Focus of the Archer10/10
Howl of the Lion10/10
Eye of the Lynx10/10
Grace of the Crow10/10
Strength of the Bear2/2
Recovery of the Eagle0/10

The crit-rate passives lose value once Berserk Spirit is active, which is why the community build skips Recovery of the Eagle entirely; if you would rather not rely on Berserk, put those points into the crit passives and a few more into AGI instead.

Gear

  • Always buy the newest two-handed sword in each town; Warrior weapons have the highest base damage and shop weapons are never a waste.
  • Armor sets unlock at fixed levels; the community advice to fight Ghost of Ladon at 42, 46 or 49 is about wearing the newest set.
  • Fire or Holy weapon elements are nice, not necessary. Do not chase elements over raw attack.
  • The Feather of Oblivion matters less for Warriors than other classes because STR already raises weight.

Boss notes

  • Letter Carrier: Warriors are the only class that survives more than two swings; still step out after each combo.
  • Ghost of Ladon: Blessed Armor before the fight, Berserk Spirit when the head turns purple.
  • Virulent: Keep moving to dodge the screen spell, then Mateo. Maxed Mateo shortens this fight dramatically.

Compare with the Paladin build and the Assassin build, or check what each stat does on the stats page.
