How the games connect
- Regret is the hero of 1 and 4 and appears in 2, 3 and S. Sun, Vicious (Vishu in S) and the nymphs Langue and Parole also return in later games and in Chronobreak costumes.
- Ladon is the villain sealed in ZENONIA 1 and resurrected or chased in every sequel; the Mark of Ladon drives ZENONIA 4’s time-travel plot.
- Leo, the southern capital of ZENONIA 1, is rebuilt as Deva Castle in ZENONIA 2 and stays the series hub through 5.
- Systems changed over time: hunger and weight (kept in 1 and 2) were dropped from 3 onward; 4 introduced free-to-play with in-app purchases; S went online.
Series questions
Which ZENONIA is the best?
There is no official ranking. In the Steam reviews of the remaster, ZENONIA 3 is the sequel players ask for most, with 2 close behind; 4 and 5 are remembered for introducing in-app purchases. ZENONIA 1 is the only one you can buy today, which settles the question for now.
Do I need to play the games in order?
No. Each game has its own hero and story; Regret from ZENONIA 1 returns as the lead of ZENONIA 4 and appears in 2 and 3, and Ladon is the recurring villain. The first game is the natural starting point and the only one currently sold.
Is ZENONIA Chronobreak coming to Steam or the West?
Not announced. Chronobreak (first announced as World of Zenonia) launched in South Korea on June 27, 2023 as a mobile and PC MMORPG. Com2us has not given a global date.
Will the other games be remastered?
The dev team has only committed to ZENONIA 1 on Steam and a Switch version. They said in their interview that fan demand drove this restoration, and nearly every review asks for 2 and 3, so watch the official Discord and Steam news.
