How to Play ZENONIA 1 in 2026: Steam, Deck, Switch

The short answer

As of September 2026 there is exactly one official way to play ZENONIA 1: the Steam version released on August 31, 2026 by Com2us Holdings and CFK. It costs $9.99 (10% off until September 14), runs on Windows only, has full controller support and is Steam Deck Verified. A Nintendo Switch version is in development.

Steam (PC)

  • Store page: app 4538960, titled ZENONIA 1. Minimum spec is a Core i3-6100, 8 GB RAM and a GTX 1060; see system requirements.
  • Keyboard-only and controller play are both supported. No mouse control, and the developers said it cannot be added.
  • Ten interface languages: English, Japanese, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Korean, French, German, Spanish, Russian and Brazilian Portuguese.
  • No Steam Cloud at launch; saves are local. See save files.
  • A free demo (about one hour, up to the Cave of Deceit quest) is still listed; demo saves do not transfer.

Steam Deck

The store lists the game as Deck Verified. Saves live in the game’s compatdata folder under /home/deck/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/4538960/, and players in the discussions have moved saves between Deck and PC by hand because there is no cloud sync.

Nintendo Switch

On August 1, 2026 Com2us told its Discord that the Switch version was being developed alongside the PC version and was already in playtesting, with no release date. Nintendo Everything reported it the same day. There has been no update since launch.

Searches for “zenonia 1 apk”, “android 15/16”, “ppsspp iso” and “nds rom” are all pointing at these dead versions. This site does not link to them; the Steam version is the game those files were trying to preserve, with controls and UI rebuilt for a real screen.

What the Steam version changed

The story, classes, skills, gear, the good/evil meter, hunger, weight and the day/night cycle are unchanged. Controls, UI readability, gear comparison, batch repair, quick save, achievements and language support are new. The full list, with the developers’ own reasoning, is on the Steam vs original page.
